Ukraine Orders Another 300 Battle-Tested German Reconnaissance Drones

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has ordered an additional 300 reconnaissance drones from Quantum-Systems.

This is Kyiv’s third order of Vector drones following two earlier purchases of 33 in August 2022 and 105 in January 2023.

The German government has funded the procurement.

Battle-Tested in Ukraine

The Vector has offered the Ukrainian military “advanced aerial intelligence and situational awareness” in combating Russian forces, the company stated.

“Since August 2022, Vector demonstrated its unprecedented performance under the most challenging conditions,” it added.

“Vector has been extensively used and intensively tested on the Ukrainian battlefield, where it has proven to be an asset for military intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance operations.”

Features

The vertical take-off and landing system is rugged and agile, and deploys in two minutes.

The system can fly non-stop for up to three hours at 72 kilometers (45 miles) per hour, streaming real-time video to multiple ground stations up to 35 kilometers (22 miles) away.

Its very low noise enables deployment in covert operations, and a recent software update allows it to operate in a global positioning system-denied environment.
