The Defense Post is seeking interns for our news desk.
The Defense Post is an independent website dedicated to defense news from around the world, providing breaking news, in-depth coverage, analysis and commentary on defense and security from an international perspective.
Applicants should have excellent English and experience with news writing or writing on military and national security issues.
Your responsibilities will include reporting, copyediting and research, so you should be a current student or recent graduate, or have a mix of education and experience. Interns based in major cities (London, Paris, Washington, D.C., etc.) will attend press briefings and other events.
Other language abilities are a plus, especially Arabic, French, Persian (Farsi) or Russian.
Hours are flexible and can be full-time or part-time but you will need availability in GMT and/or U.S. Eastern Time. You will work remotely with us through Slack or in our Washington, D.C office. Applicants do not need to be based in the United States.
Please submit a cover letter and CV along with a short sample article on a current conflict, military development, national security issue, defense technology or industry news.
This internship is unpaid but we will work with you to ensure academic credit.
