EDGE, Turkish Aerospace Team Up for New Airborne Projects

UAE’s EDGE Group has signed a memorandum of understanding with Turkish Aerospace to integrate payloads and sensors with their airborne capabilities.

The agreement will see the companies collaborate to implement intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance on upcoming aerospace-specific initiatives, paving the way for technology transfer, integration, and manufacturing.

No specific projects lined up from Turkish Aerospace have yet been named in the deal.

EDGE Group Platforms & Systems President Khaled Al Zaabi explained that the memorandum underlines their dedication to developing defense advancements, as well as growing relationship with Turkey.

“Our agreement to collaborate with Turkish Aerospace as the partner of choice for advanced airborne projects strengthens our continued cooperation with Türkiye’s defence industry ecosystem,” he added.

Collaborating With Turkey

EDGE has collaborated with Turkey on other military projects, focusing largely on promoting advanced technologies and a deeper defense cooperation.

Recently, the company signed a deal to integrate its Desert Sting 16 guided bombs into Baykar’s TB2 unmanned aerial vehicles.

A January video shared by EDGE appears to show a completed fitting of the two capabilities.
