Canadian Firm to Deliver Software Solution to Australia’s Small Warship Fleet

Canadian firm OSI Maritime Systems has received a contract to deliver software solutions for the Royal Australian Navy (RAN).

As part of the agreement, the company will supply its Tactical Asset Control and Tracking (T-ACT) system for the service’s small warships.

The capability includes electronic chart displays, information systems, and radar software licenses.

“It continues the success of OSI delivering leading naval technology through our AIC (Australian Industry Content) partner to the RAN,” OSI Business Development Vice President Jim Davison stated.

“OSI has been the Fleetwide navigation OEM provider to the RAN for nearly twenty years, and we take pride in bringing valuable capabilities to the Fleet.”

OSI’s T-ACT is a military-grade architecture securing small vessel communication, navigation, and associated maritime operations.

It maintains tactical networks and overall situational awareness between supported crafts and motherships.

The T-ACT is expected to bolster the performance of the RAN’s latest rigid hull inflatable boats (RHIB).

It will also be integrated into the SEA1180 offshore patrol vessels program and future efforts across the service.

“We are very pleased to continue to build a successful enterprise with a premium client such as the RAN,” OSI President and CEO Ken Kirkpatrick said.

“The Small Craft System brings many capability advantages to the fleet and allows the deployment of RHIBs to better perform surveillance to interdiction.”
