Mobilicom to Integrate Radio Into US DoD’s RAID System

The US Department of Defense has selected cybersecurity company Mobilicom to integrate its radio into the Radio Agile Integrated Device (RAID).

Developed by Tomahawk Robotics, RAID is a command, control, and communications platform to manage military systems from chest-worn equipment and tactical rugged packs.

RAID is a universal solution for infantry units communicating with legacy and next-generation unmanned systems, associated sensors, and payloads.

It is equipped with artificial intelligence-based technology to enhance mission success, situational awareness, and lethality on the modern battlefield.

SkyHopper Pro Radio

Mobilicom will supply the US military with its proprietary bi-directional software-defined radio SkyHopper Pro.

The equipment employs point-to-point and point-to-multipoint connectivity between users and their unmanned system receivers, enabling control over a single drone or an entire fleet.

It can sustain networks from up to 5 kilometers (3 miles) for non-line-of-sight and urban operations.

The radio’s software encrypts relayed data while detecting, preventing, and responding in real-time to cyberattacks targeting covered systems without human intervention.

“This marks another major step forward in Mobilicom’s penetration of the US market, particularly with systems build for the US Department of Defense,” Mobilicom Founder and CEO Oren Elkayam said.

“Mobilicom has become part of an elite ecosystem of providers serving the US DoD with our field-proven mature technologies that power cybersecure communications for autonomous drones and robotics.”

“We are pleased to work with Tomahawk Robotics, which is contracting with numerous branches of the US and global defense and security infrastructure to deliver enhanced soldier capabilities.”
