The Belgian government has approved additional military aid of 412 million euros ($448 million) for Ukraine, including much-needed artillery rounds.

A total of 373.1 million euros ($405 million) in ammunition will be sourced from Belgian military stocks and industry, according to Belga News Agency.

Details of the caliber and delivery date have not been provided.

The Belgian Ministry of Defense also plans a joint purchase with the Netherlands of reconnaissance drones and nearly 300 Lynx armored fighting vehicles, the outlet added.

Sea Mine Hunters, Armored Ambulances

The aid package also includes three sea mine hunters and armored ambulances.

Belgium and the Netherlands will provide Ukrainian personnel with training to operate the mine hunters and maintenance to ensure their seaworthiness and operation.

Meanwhile, the ambulances will be bought by the Benelux countries, the outlet added, without specifying whether the third member of the group — Luxembourg — is also chipping in.

Belgium’s total contribution to Ukraine this year is now 575.7 million euros ($625 million).
