UK Delivers Cargo Drone for Ukraine Frontline Weapon Supplies

The UK has donated heavy-lift drones to Ukraine for medical evacuation and battlefield supplies, including weapons.

A UK Ministry of Defence video demonstrates a Malloy drone flying with an apparently injured soldier lying strapped to a makeshift bed.

Manufactured by London-based Malloy Aeronautics, the drone can carry a payload of 180 kilograms (397 pounds) and has a range of 70 kilometers (43 miles).

T400 Features

The variant for Ukraine is not specified. However, the stated features are of the T400.

The unmanned aerial vehicle has a cruise speed of 35 meters (114 feet) per second or 126 kilometers (78 miles) per hour, faster than military transport vehicles.

It can automatically take off and land and travel through pre-programmed waypoints.

It features eight propellers and eight rotors that allow stable flight even if one of the propellers is not working.

Lighter Version Sent Last Year

Malloy drones were supplied to Ukraine in 2022 as part of a $370 million defense aid package.

According to several reports, the Malloy T150 — a smaller version of the T400 — was part of the package.

The T150 has a payload of 68 kilograms (150 pounds), allowing it to transport weapons such as Javelin anti-tank and Stinger anti-aircraft systems that weigh around 23 kilograms (51 pounds) and 15 kilograms (33 pounds), respectively.
