IERUS to Support US Testing Systems, Facilities for Next-Gen Weapons

The US Air Force has selected tech firm IERUS for a $1-billion ceiling award to support the Department of Defense’s testing facilities and platforms dedicated to next-generation weapons and cyber systems.

The Test & Evaluation Technologies for Ranges, Armaments & Spectrum II (TETRAS II) program will see the Alabama-based company, along with more than 40 other awardees, deliver developmental and operational test requirements for the US military.

Most of the resulting technologies will be utilized to produce command, control, communications, computers, cyber, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C5ISR), munitions, and electronic warfare.

TETRAS II will sustain the performance of fifth-generation weapons and cyber systems and support the US defense transition to sixth-generation technologies.

Work for the contract will conclude by December 2028.

IERUS and Nullspace

IERUS was among the 14 contractors selected in 2015 for the TETRAS program’s initial phase. For the next stage, the company will leverage the expertise of its first commercial startup Nullspace.

The California segment specializes in electromagnetic simulation software for defense, aerospace, communications, and quantum computing.

Currently, Nullspace offers simulation systems, processors, and analysis solutions.

“Nullspace is well-positioned for success with support from IERUS,” IERUS and Nullspace C-Founder and CEO Dr. Daniel Faircloth stated.

“Aside from the seed funding, IERUS will continuously supply Nullspace with new and innovative software IP developed under IERUS’s SBIR grants.

“This creates a unique and beneficial support structure not typically available to technology start-ups.”
