IAI, MBDA to Jointly Offer Germany Air Defense, Electronic Warfare Systems
Israel Aerospace Industry (IAI) and MBDA Germany have entered into an agreement to jointly offer air defense and warfare systems to the German military.
The solutions will be based on IAI subsidiary Elta Systems’ Scorpius electronic warfare (EW) systems.
The companies will offer a ground-based electronic air-defense jammer based on the Scorpius-G and an advanced threat emulator for EW training based on the Scorpius-T.
Scorpius Systems
The Scorpius-G is a long-range radio frequency electronic support measures and electronic countermeasures system.
The system can intercept, analyze, locate, track, and jam a range of air and land-based threats, such as fire control radars, search radars, airborne early warning sensors, and synthetic-aperture radar.
The Scorpius-T EW emulator creates a range of training scenarios for fourth and fifth-generation fighter aircraft to handle “realistic, signal-dense, multi-threat environments.”
MBDA’s Role
MBDA will leverage its expertise in air defense and training systems to ensure the systems integration and future adaptations into the “European/German defense training organization’s system of systems.”
