Aerospace company Embraer has signed a support services agreement for the Philippine Air Force’s A-29 Super Tucano light attack fleet.
The contract will see the Brazilian firm provide an array of services for more than 200 parts on the aircraft.
The agreement covers the Philippine Air Force’s fleet of six A-29s procured in 2017.
Deliveries were completed in 2020 during the height of the pandemic.
Last year, all of the aircraft were declared fully operational following the final delivery and routine maintenance check flights.
The fleet is operated by the service’s 15th Strike Wing (Trojans) at Danilo Atienza Air Base on the Cavite Peninsula.
The air force utilizes the A-29s for aerial reconnaissance, light attack, close air support, and pilot training.
Supporting Customer Missions
The worldwide A-29 fleet has reached 500,000 flight hours, with Embraer delivering over 260 of the aircraft to more than 15 air forces.
