Spain, Turkey, Belgium Consortium to Develop 6×6 Cavalry Vehicle for Spanish Army

A group of defense contractors has signed a memorandum of understanding to build and supply a 6x6 cavalry vehicle for the Spanish Army.

The Station Commander from RAF Lossiemouth, Group Captain Layden, has a flight with 120 Sqn onboard the RAF’s new submarine-hunting Poseidon Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA). The Crew, with Wing Commander Hanson are training continuously to begin Operations. The Station Commander, as part of the assessment of how things are progressing observes the Sqn as the carry out a training exercise over the North Sea. The aircraft is part of a new £3 billion programme, including the purchase of nine state-of-the-art Poseidon jets, which will improve the UK’s ability to track hostile targets below and above the waves. Poseidon aircraft will protect the UK’s continuous at-sea nuclear deterrent and be central to NATO missions across the North Atlantic, co-operating closely with the US and Norwegian Poseidon fleets. The UK’s purchase of the Poseidon is in response to increased threats such as Russian submarine activity in the Atlantic returning to Cold War levels, while China is also investing heavily in new Arctic facilities, infrastructure and ice-capable ships.

Kuroda at Tanjung Perak Port in Indonesia during Exercise Super Garuda Shield 2023. *** Local Caption *** At the invitation of Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI), Australia is contributing over 125 personnel from the Australian Defence Force (ADF) to Exercise Super Garuda Shield 2023 (SGS23). SGS23 is an TNI and United States Indo Pacific Command led bilateral training activity. It is focused on joint operations with international partners in and around East Java in Indonesia from 31 August to 13 September. Held since 2009, the ADF first participated in 2022, and in 2023 is contributing an Australian Army force element including a Troop of M1A1 Abrams tanks from the 1st Armoured Regiment. The contingent also includes an Infantry Platoon from the 10th/27th Battalion, Royal South Australian Regiment, command and control elements, and a range of armoured vehicles, trucks and recovery vehicles.
