The US Air Force has selected Parsons segment Xator for multiple subcontracting positions to support its Integrated Base Defense Security System (IBDSS).

Under the agreement, Xator will receive up to $79.5 million in modernization and sustainment work for the service through 2027.

For future projects, the firm will build upon its Force Protection Site Security System Solutions, which provides the service’s global operations with integrated, foundational security capabilities.

“We remain focused on delivering security solutions that integrate personnel and technology into a seamless defense architecture, providing a collective view of the battlespace, securing Air Force assets, and protecting the warfighter,” Xator President Hal Smith stated.

Seamless Digital Defense

According to Parsons, the subcontracts will cover the US Air Force’s Defender Multi-Domain Command, Control, and Communications-based technologies.

The resulting solutions will serve as the core structure of an IBDSS platform that employs consistent communication, computing power, and situational awareness.

“Today’s threat environment requires complex solutions that enable seamless physical to digital layered defense,” Smith explained.

“Xator’s support continues and expands our commitment to provide the warfighter with systems designed to enable more rapid and informed decision-making in response to evolving threats.”

Parsons and Xator in US Security

In 2022, Parsons signed a $400-million agreement to acquire Xator as its engineered systems business unit.

The strategic contract expanded Parsons’ portfolio, enabling the company to offer new security services to US government customers.

Cybersecurity Contract

Earlier this month, Parsons subsidiary BlackHorse Solutions won a $12-million contract to support DARPA’s cybersecurity assessments.

The program leverages prototypes to enhance red-teaming activities related to cyber threats.
