EDGE Group showcased an upgraded version of its JAIS armored vehicle during the recently concluded World Defense Show 2024 in Saudi Arabia.
Dubbed the JAIS Mk2, the military vehicle is reportedly capable of supporting conventional, modern, and asymmetric combat operations.
It also provides soldiers with enhanced protection and improved mobility within its overall weight class, according to EDGE Group entity NIMR.
“Completing the comprehensive update on the JAIS Mk2 and across all our product lines is a significant landmark for NIMR,” company CEO Abri du Plessis said.
He further stated that the “momentous” unveiling of the new vehicle “underlines our commitment to meeting the needs of key customers and propelling NIMR’s sustained success in the years ahead.”
Delivering Innovative Solutions
According to NIMR, the upgraded JAIS Mk2 now features a completely modernized electrical system, a larger payload and internal crew capacity, and expanded external storage.
It also boasts a design that prioritizes ergonomics and reduces thermal signature for covert operations.
Manufactured at state-of-the-art facilities, the armored vehicle reportedly ensures strict compliance with international military standards.
Its versatility would also allow future operators to carry out modifications to support various missions.
NIMR said the JAIS Mk2 upgrades were meant to “reaffirm its commitment to delivering innovative solutions that align with evolving customer needs.”
