Cytek to Build Cybersecurity Operations Center for Caribbean Defense Customer

Bulgarian cyber company Cytek Security has received a contract to develop a distributed Security Operations Center (SOC) for an undisclosed defense ministry in the Caribbean region.

For the initiative, the firm will evaluate the agency’s cybersecurity risk landscape before designing, building, and employing the SOC system for the customer and its military forces.

The resulting center will be responsible for cyber-related information gathering and threat detection to support the ministry’s digital domain.

It will also coordinate with stakeholders to boost the country’s command and control and situational awareness capabilities.

Protecting the Ministry and Citizens

Cytek wrote that the SOC will focus on consistent surveillance monitoring across the ministry’s network and system activities. It will perform active scanning to filter potential threats and associated vulnerabilities.

In addition, the SOC will gather, analyze, and share vital cyber intelligence for supplemental proactive detection and prevention measures.

Throughout its service distribution across the customer’s multiple defense bodies, Cytek said it will secure integration and streamline infrastructure installations, policies, and processes related to collaboration and information sharing.

The company will also aid the ministry in launching self-sustained cyber proficiency and awareness training using “proven” approaches for establishing an organization-level “cyber DNA.”

“Cybersecurity attacks are growing both in numbers and level of sophistication,” Cytek Cyber Solutions and Strategy EVP Michael Arov stated.

“High-profile organizations need to be especially vigilant as security breaches can impact human lives.”

“We are proud to have been selected for this strategic project based on our experience with national-level and highly classified cyber defense projects to help the Ministry of Defense protect its organization and citizens.”
