HII Develops Cyber Threat Hunting Kit for US, Partner Nations

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) segment Mission Technologies has developed a small form factor prototype kit for cyber threat hunting.

The solution is programmed to identify and counter malicious activities in the US federal government and other partner nation networks.

HII’s Saberhunt

Called Saberhunt, the prototype kit is employed to hunt across traditional partner networks, cloud networks, or hybrid network environments.

The platform uses a modular architecture to address future cybersecurity requirements and sustain computing and data storage interoperability for mission-oriented, customized solutions.

Saberhunt’s compact architecture is deployable via airline-approved carry-on cases. It can link to the user’s network at any time and is supported by experts 24/7.

HII offers the kit with remote troubleshooting and cyber armories of modular hardware components to maintain international delivery within 72 hours.

Leveraging Expertise

HII will facilitate additional developments for the Sabehunt anti-cyberthreat solution in partnership with Dell Technologies, Gigamon, VMware, Secure Enterprise Engineering, and World Wide Technology Inc.

“We are very excited to offer an innovative solution that cyber protection teams can rely on, regardless of how their mission needs evolve,” HII Cyber, Electronic Warfare and Space President Grant Hagen said.

“We have assembled a team with extensive expertise that is committed to delivering the right tool for cyber threat hunting operations.”

Recent HII Cyber Projects

The US Air Force awarded HII a $70-million contract last year to conduct technical analysis and suggest enhancements to support the US Department of Defense’s cyber modernization and artificial intelligence/machine learning priorities.

In 2020, the company signed a $22-million agreement to supply analytical support services for US Special Operations Command’s Intelligence Directorate.
