EDGE Group has been tapped to provide individual compact thermal sights to the UAE Armed Forces for 91 million Emirati dirham ($24.77 million).
The equipment will reportedly be used for conducting more effective land maneuvers.
According to the state-owned company, three variants of the weapon sights will be delivered. They feature superior thermal imaging technologies to help ensure mission success.
EDGE Group has not disclosed further contract details, such as the number under order or their specifications.
However, company official Omar Al Zaabi said that the agreement contributes to strengthening the UAE’s national defense and security.
“We look forward to benefiting our customers through our exceptional thermal sight imaging technology, contributing to successful land operations, and bolstering the development of sovereign UAE manufacturing,” he stated.
EDGE Group reached multimillion-dollar agreements with other foreign customers during the International Defence Exhibition & Conference (IDEX) 2023 in Abu Dhabi.
It received a contract worth $19 million to supply its multiple V-PROTECT convoy protection solutions to an international client.
The company also announced a $1.1-billion contract to manufacture Mk-II corvettes for the Angolan Navy.
The ships will reportedly be used to support maritime patrol, surveillance, and littoral warfare missions.
