Salient Awarded Submarine Broadcast Support Contract for US Navy

GovCIO subsidiary Salient CRGT has received a $99.2-million contract to support the US Navy’s fixed submarine broadcast system (FSBS).

The FSBS is among the principal sub-surface communication systems to use low frequency and very low frequency to connect with military sites on shore.

Under the agreement, Salient will deliver FSBS-related engineering, technical, and sustainment life cycle management services to the US Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic.

The contract also covers FSBS capability installed at the US Naval Shore Antenna Transmitter Site.

Salient will provide the facility with development, research, demonstration, assessment, program management, logistics, and material support.

It will include installation, activation, and training services for associated equipment.

‘Critical No-Fail Mission’

Work for the contract will be conducted around the US and in Italy, Japan, Australia, Iceland, and Puerto Rico.

The project is expected to be completed by January 2030, according to a US Department of Defense announcement.

“Our contract award supports the NIWC Atlantic and is a critical component of our Nation’s Submarine Force Command, Control, and Communications backbone,” GovCIO National Security President John Anderson stated.

“This is a critical no-fail mission, and we are honored that our Navy recognized the mission-first culture that permeates our company and chose to trust us with this important mission.”
