Safran, Yellowhead Helicopters Sign Rotorcraft Engine Support Contract

Safran Helicopter Engines has signed a contract to support the Yellowhead Helicopters’ AS350 and H125 rotorcraft fleets.

The support-by-the-hour agreement will see Safran provide long-term maintenance, repair, and overhaul for the Arriel and Arrius engines powering the choppers.

The framework provides aircraft engine operations with predictable costs and a flexible schedule.

Work for the contract will be completed by Safran Helicopter Engines Canada in Mirabel, Quebec.

‘Strong Relationship’

According to Safran, the partnership supports Yellowhead’s evolving business across various fields.

“This contract is a reflection of the strong relationship the two companies have nurtured over the years,” Safran Helicopter Engines Canada CEO Stewart Noel stated.

“Our two companies’ common vision of providing the best of the best customer service to our end customer drives our every interaction and our dedicated staff execute this vision professionally.”

“Within Yellowhead Helicopters, Safran Helicopter Engines Canada team is recognized as a top-tier partner providing exceptional support and service, integral in the continued growth and success of our company,” Yellowhead Helicopters CEO Jacob Forman added.

Safran’s Business Expansion

Last year, Safran entered negotiations with Thales to acquire its aeronautical electrical systems business.

The bid involves the purchase of Thales Avionics Electrical Motors and Thales Avionics Electrical Systems.

It also includes other aeronautical support, maintenance, and production activities of Thales based in Singapore and the US.
