Australia to Receive Data Management Capabilities for Mine Countermeasure Missions

Exail and Australian firm Solutions from Silicon (SfS) have signed a memorandum of understanding to support the Royal Australian Navy’s SEA 1905 program with advanced data management capabilities.

SfS is a developer of mine warfare tactical command software (MINTACS) that improves the performance of naval minehunting technologies and clearance diving force.

Under the agreement, SfS will integrate its MINTACS system with Exail’s Unmanned Mine Countermeasure Missions Integrated Solution. MINTACS software modules will also be programmed with Exail’s UMISOFT Mission Management System.

According to Exail, the software will enable crews to detect changes between surveys, compare data from various missions, and prepare plans for future MCMs.

“We’re very pleased to be collaborating with Exail on the integration of our MINTACS software with their solutions, which will give navies an advanced solution and extended capabilities to manage and conduct their mine countermeasures missions,” SfS Technical Director Russell Norman said.

Exail and SfS in International International Mine Countermeasures

MINTACS is currently operated by international customers, including Sweden, New Zealand, Thailand, and the UK.

Before the agreement with Australia, SfS and Exail delivered an UMISOFT-integrated MINTACS to the Latvian Navy to support its mine countermeasure vessel modernization program.

SfS and Exail will continue their collaboration through joint research and development projects in Australia following the latest memorandum.
