Aerojet Subsidiary to Provide Additional M67 Grenade Parts for US Army

Aerojet Rocketdyne subsidiary AOT has received a five-year contract from Day & Zimmerman (D&Z) to provide additional M67 hand grenade parts for the US Army.

The base year contract includes the manufacture and delivery of 200,000 fragmentation hand grenade body assemblies.

A weapon commonly used in close combat, the M67 hand grenade has a 2.5-inch (6.35-centimeter) diameter steel shell containing 6.5 ounces (184 grams) of high explosive compounds triggered by pulling a pin that ignites a fuse to detonate.

“D&Z has been proud to partner with AOT for many years in delivering the highest quality grenades to our warfighters and allies,” said D&Z’s Munitions and Government Division President Michael Yoh.

“The two companies have a long tradition of working well together, and D&Z looks forward to continuing this partnership with this contract.”

In October 2020, the Tennessee-based armament metal provider achieved a delivery milestone after producing its eight millionth M67 hand grenade body to Day & Zimmerman.

The company has been supplying M67 grenade bodies to the US government since 2001 from their facilities in Jonesborough.
