Azerbaijan Military to Adopt Turkish Technologies

The Azerbaijani Armed Forces will adopt cutting-edge technologies developed by Turkish software company HAVELSAN.

The development was announced following the TEKNOFEST Azerbaijan Aerospace and Technology Festival conducted in Baku last week.

According to HAVELSAN official Mehmet Akif Nacar, the company has been doing business in Azerbaijan over the last two years, which includes providing support to the modernization efforts of the country’s military.

“First, we worked on the Personnel Management Information System and Logistics Information System software for the Azerbaijani Army, which we expect to be concluded in a short time,” he told Turkish state-run TRT Haber.

The tech firm said it has evaluated proposals for military training simulators and other state-of-the-art systems from Azerbaijan and is working to deliver high-tech solutions to its armed forces.

‘Super Modern’ Combat Management System

As part of integrating Turkish technologies into the Azerbaijan military, HAVELSAN plans a “super modern” combat management system for Baku’s new maritime patrol ships.

The system reportedly provides greater mission efficiency and effectiveness, assisting the interoperability of various military naval platforms.

The company also targets designing another high-performance combat management system for the Azerbaijani Air Force to support border patrol operations.

“We have completed the negotiations [and] we have demonstrated the systems used in Turkey on site,” Nacar explained. “We are also negotiating for the modernization of the existing ships.”
