KTG Secures Additional Investment for Kraken K50

UK-based Kraken Technology Group (KTG) has secured additional investment to develop its K50 precision engagement craft, the maritime technology company announced last week.

The funding will be used to establish a dedicated manufacturing facility in the UK and develop increased demand for the maritime platform, which has been designed for rapid response, precision engagement, and protection of critical offshore infrastructure.

“The Kraken K50 will demonstrate unparalleled levels of performance, integration, modularity and operational capability which addresses both expeditionary and green-water requirements,” Founder and CEO of Kraken Technology Group Mal Crease said in a statement

KTG was founded last year, though it claims to have several decades of experience and expertise in the high-performance marine industry.

The Kraken K50 was developed as a successor to the renowned MTB, MGB, and PT Boat-class, offering better range, performance, precision capability, and mission-specific customization.

The platform includes multiple modular systems and sensors that can deliver semi-autonomous operational capabilities.

The vessel has a top speed of 65 knots (120 kilometers/75 miles per hour).
