Three killed after Turkish military plane crashes in Isparta

Three people were killed Wednesday when a Turkish military plane crashed in the southern Isparta province, the army said.

The Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) said in a statement that the CASA CN-235 transport plane with two pilots and a technician on board lost contact around 12:50 p.m. (0950 GMT). The plane took off from Eskisehir in western Anatolia about 90 minutes earlier.

The crew was on a training exercise, TSK said.

Governor Sehmus Gunaydin told state-run TRT news that rescue teams had found the aircraft near Egirdir lake. Thick fog in the region was likely the cause of the crash, he added.
